Improving Topical and Transdermal Drug Delivery
As topical semisolid dosage forms continue to grow in popularity, the use of lipid-based pharmaceutical excipients has become increasingly prevalent due to their ability to modify skin permeation, resulting in enhanced therapeutic efficacy of some dermatological drugs.
In the interest of further investigating the effects of lipid-based pharmaceutical excipients on critical quality attributes, BASF has partnered with Dr. Narasimha Murthy at the University of Mississippi to employ qualitative and quantitative methods including IVRT/IVPT to identify potential excipients to improve topical and transdermal drug delivery. We are pleased to have Dr. Murthy take part in our webinar and present his work on our excipients.
